Maintenance
Security systems degrade quietly. A dirty lens films blur, a full disk stops recording, a backup battery ages in silence. Maintenance exists so you do not discover the problem on the day of the incident.
How the engagement runs
5 stages, from the site survey to handover. Each one is agreed with you before the next begins.
Request a site surveyOpening condition report
Before any contract we record the real state of the estate, including systems we did not fit. You learn what is sound and what is already at end of life.
Periodic visit
Lens and detector cleaning, checks on fixings and cable runs, testing of every detection point, and verification of batteries and backed-up power supplies.
Recording checks
We confirm that recording actually runs, that the stated retention is met and that playback works. A recorder that is powered on is not a recorder that records.
Visit report
Every visit produces a written report, listing what was fixed, what needs watching and what will need replacing.
Call-out repairs
Between visits, blocking faults are handled as a priority within the response time set in the contract.
What you receive
- Written report after every visit
- Up-to-date system logbook, useful in a dispute
- Priority call-out on blocking faults
- Labour rate fixed for the term of the contract
What is not included
- Replacement parts, quoted separately and only with your approval
- Damage from an incident, lightning or third-party work
- Extensions to the estate, which fall under an installation quote
Where we stand
We do take over systems fitted by others, on one condition, an opening condition report. Taking on an estate without knowing what is in it means inheriting faults we did not create, then billing you for work you will consider unfair. That report is charged once and deducted from the first contract.
Frequently asked
How often are visits needed?
Two visits a year suit most sites. A workshop, a dusty environment or a very exposed coastal location justifies quarterly visits.
Can you maintain a system installed by another company?
Yes, after a condition report that sets the starting point. We do not take on an estate blind when we do not know its history.
Does the contract tie me in for several years?
The commitment is annual and renewable. Termination terms are in the contract, with no hidden clause.
